PFA Deputy Chief Executive Kate Gill announced as IFCCA panellist

International Football Coaching Conference Australia (IFCCA) is pleased to announce Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Deputy Chief Executive Kate Gill as a panellist at the conference.

A former Matildas captain and one of the leading goal scorers for the national side, Gill enjoyed an outstanding national playing career which spanned 12 years.

The PFA Deputy Chief Executive enjoyed much success during her playing career, including lifting the 2010 AFC Women’s Asian Cup trophy and a 2014 W-League Premiership with Perth Glory, while individually she picked up two W-League Golden Boots and was Australia’s first Asian Women’s Footballer of the Year winner in 2010.

Following her retirement as a player, Gill joined PFA as a Player Relations Executive before taking on a senior leadership role as Deputy Chief Executive.

At IFCCA, Gill will join Caltex Socceroos Head Coach Graham Arnold and Joeys National Team Head Coach Trevor Morgan on the ‘Australian National Teams’ panel.

“The conference presents a great opportunity to engage and share my experiences, in the hope of igniting a different way of thinking and challenging individuals’ formed perspectives,” Gill said.

A long serving member of the PFA Matildas Committee, Gill became the first female to be appointed to the PFA Executive Committee in 2014 where she was instrumental in securing the historic ‘Whole of Game’ Agreement, resulting in a significantly enhanced career path for the country’s elite female players.

More recently, Gill successfully executed the inaugural W-League Collective Bargaining Agreement, protecting the rights of players within Australia’s premier elite domestic women’s football competition.

An advocate for female athletes, Gill believes women’s football can be a catalyst for change in the attitude towards and recognition of female athletes and women in leadership roles across the workforce.

IFCCA will bring together experienced football professionals from around the world to share knowledge with coaches of all levels, from grassroots and community coaches to those in the National Premier Leagues and at professional clubs.
